Festival Director on Yinka Shonibare MBE in Australia:
David Malacari, Director of Auckland Festival, recently visited the Yinka Shonibare MBE exhibition at the Museum of Contemporary Art, Sydney:
"The rich color and detail of Yinka Shonibare’s elaborately costumed headless figures are a delight, the textures and details enthralling, and the references to colonialism and cultural appropriation resonant with the festival’s themes."

You can see this incredible exhibition at Auckland Art Gallery throughout Auckland Festival. To see an image gallery of Shonibare's work, and to watch an interview with him, go to the BBC webiste.
